What are the steps to get my license in California?
- Take I Drive Safely’s California Drivers License Course.
- Take your written knowledge exam at the DMV, then get your permit!
- Complete your Behind the Wheel hours - you’ll need to do some with a professional instructor, and some with any licensed driver over 21. For more details, check out Getting your Permit section of this help center.
- Once you meet all requirements, you’re ready to get your license!
